Omaha's EXTREME Car & Truck Show 2011

The 7th Annual Omaha Extreme Car and Truck Show – at The Digz, May 14/15.

A little over 7 years ago Randy Strunk, a veteran independent manufacturer representative, suggested to mobile electronics retailers in Omaha to join together to raise consumer awareness of mobile electronics in the area. Needless to say the initial reaction from the retailers was a high degree of skepticism.

After several meetings a deal was hammered out among four area retailers-Stereo West Autotoys, Inphase Car Audio, Metro Audio Dynamics and Nebraska Furniture Mart's Mobile Entertainment division. Strunk's firm, Creative Sales and Marketing, was and remains a driving force as the group readies for the 7th anniversary of the Omaha Extreme Car and Truck Show on the weekend of May 14th and 15th.

During a recent conversation Strunk told 12voltnews.com, "Last year the attendance was nearly 5500. This year we have started promotional activities earlier and added  more significant venues to increase visibility and we feel that this could be the year that the crowds surpass 7000.”

Make A Wish foundation will once again be a major focus point of the event this year.  Several vendors are teaming up along with area retailers to give away thousands of dollars in door prizes both days to send 3 year old Jack and his family to “Disney World” to complete his wish!  The goal is to collect $7500 in donations to make this wish happen.  The attitude of the retailers has been amazing as they see the possibilities to give back to their community in a special way other than just through a normal store promotion.

In addition to the Car and Truck Show, USACi Sound Off event and world class demo vehicles from leading manufacturers like JBL, Orion, Kicker, Rockford Fosgate, JL Audio, TREO, MTX, JVC and Pioneer; a 6 on 6  Co-ED Volleyball Tournament and OMAHA NIGHTHAWKS Cheerleaders and Mascot will certainly build attendance.

The ROCK-N-REV Show concert will take place both days of the show in the afternoon. Featured will be the hottest young band out of the Midwest, “Cold Steel”. “These kids can lay it down, Trust me!”  says Jeff Budin of SMS Inc. relayed to 12voltnews.com.

Omaha's local RC Car Club will host demonstrations and invites anyone to bring their RC car and run it on the fun course that will be set up in a portion of the parking lot at The Digz.

The Omaha based SYSTEMATIC KAOS stunt motorcycle team will be back performing many cool tricks on stunt bikes both days.

Sublime Speed Technology will be providing the DYNO SHOOTOUT to “Test your driving skills” on a provided vehicle for a nominal charge and a chance to win prizes in the parking lot of the Digz both days.

Many other supporting Vendors will be present like Red Bull and their vehicle, the U.S. Army with their H3 Hummer, Omaha Marine with a “Decked –Out“ boat to check out, Meguiar’s Car Care Products and much, much more!

Sponsoring vendors include Pioneer, JVC, Alpine, Kenwood, dB Research, MTX, JL Audio, Kicker, TREO, DUB, Audison/Hertz, Bazooka, Rockford Fosgate, Orion, JBL, Vizualogic, Viper, Python, Clifford, Scytek, Skullcandy, PAC, Kinetik and Audiovox.

The proceeds from the USACi “LOCAL”car audio competition will be donated to charity! This year's recipient again is the “Make a Wish” Foundation.

The event is ABSOLUTELY FREE to the public!

This event will be fun for whole family!

Lots of FREE goods, prizes and giveaways all day long both days!

Show hours 9-5pm Saturday and 9-5pm on Sunday.
